Dr. Adebisi Adetayo has a PhD in Materials Engineering with broad experience in advanced materials processing and development. His area of research expertise includes sustainable and recyclable material with focus on environmental sustainability, green synthesis processes of agro- by products for composite material development. He also has a research interest in process optimization of eco-friendly composite materials. He lectures and conducts research at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he has supervised several postgraduate research projects. Dr. Adebisi is the project team lead (ABU-Nigeria) for the British Council - Innovation for African Universities (BC-IAU) for the Circular Plastic Economy Innovation Hub. The project is sponsored by the British Council and coordinated by De Montfort University Leicester (DMU), UK, in collaboration with ABU, Zaria, University of Lagos (UNILAG), University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), and Co-Creation Hub (Cc-Hub). For this project, Dr. Adebisi is focusing on the Design and optimization of a 3-D printer filament extruder from plastic waste materials. He is also a co-member (AFIT-Nigeria) of the European Union grant for Africa Higher Education on Planetary and Space Science Technology. The project is sponsored by the European Union and coordinated by the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) in collaboration with thirteen (13) organizations and institutions in Africa. Dr. Adebisi served on secondment as the Director, Centre for Innovation and Research, with the Air Force Institute Technology, Kaduna, Nigeria. His quest and passion for deepening research at the institute translated to a series of research impact awards across the state, regional, and national levels. His publications have attracted over 500 citations with a h-index of 11 on Google Scholar and over 50 articles in international, regional, and local journals. He has also presented over 40 papers in conferences, seminars, symposiums, workshops, and technical sessions. He achieved and won several research exhibition awards, both in Malaysia and Nigeria. Dr. Adebisi has exhibited outstanding leadership qualities which earned him the President’s Award at the International Islamic University Malaysia in 2015. He is a member of the International Association of Engineers (IAEngr) and a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). Dr. Adebisi is a chartered member of the Association of Researcher and Inventors Network (ARIN), Fellow of the Innovation Fellowship for Aspiring Inventors and Researchers (iFAIR Israel-Nigeria) and Fellow of the Africa Science Leadership Programme (South Africa). Dr. Adebisi is an advocate of materials and environmental standards based on his training and participation in executive courses at the Sustainable Procurement, Environment, and Social Standards Enhancement Centre of Excellence (SPESSECE) sponsored by the World Bank.
