My Vision for Future Africa
I take part in voluntary social services for societal development. I have served under the Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS) as the Nigerian Young Academy (NYA) mentor for Igbobi college, Lagos, Nigeria for the Schlumberger Excellence in Education Development (Schlumberger/NAS Project, 2012) where I took part in the project development that involved the development of local power plant for the people of Shomolu local government area in Lagos Nigeria using cattle dung. I was able to develop a cheap but novel reaction mechanism for the production of biofuel from underutilized seed oils. This is of great importance to those leaving in rural area. I occasionally motive and give career talk to high school students on the advancement of Sciences and recent development in Technology. I am also a part of the Science and Technology arm of the NYA which has availed me the opportunity of being involved in the planning and organization of workshops, seminars and conferences for the NYA. Recently, I won the IFS water research grant (No W/5401-1) and the aim is to help the community in waste water treatment that would give rise to the development of a domestic waste water treatment plant for community use.
