My Vision for Future Africa

I am a founding member of the Nigerian Young Academy (NYA) and member Young Affiliate of The World Academy of Science (TWAS) and TWAS Young Affiliate Network (TYAN). I also served as the Secretary General of the NYA between 2013 and 2015. In this role, we provided a new platform for young scientists to contribute their knowledge and skills to the development of science and technology in developing countries. In 2013, I established a research group and laboratory at the University of Benin, Nigeria. I have been leading this research laboratory for the last 3 years. I have supervised a number of junior postdoctoral researchers/ visiting scholars, and Ph.D. and M.Sc. students and several Bachelor students. I was the chairperson and the local organizer of the TWAS-ROSSA young scientists meeting in which case we invited and hosted the 2016 Regional Young Scientists Conference (RYSC) in Nigeria. I was responsible for the invitation of other young academy representatives from Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Kenya, Benin Republic, Uganda, South Africa and Ghana. The conference was to chart a course for ''inclusive growth and sustainable development'' in Africa by the year 2063. I regularly contribute to national and international congresses as participant, invited speaker and organizer. I review papers for key journals in my field.
